~We advise all our clients to purchase the proper travel-insurance that covers theft, loss, injury and medical. Why not approach your holidays with that peace of mind.

~ Security and safety are always our primary concern at Guide Morocco Tours, and we do not take it lightly. The border with Algeria has been closed for over 2 decades. We do not approach it, so you will have no contact.

~The Western Sahara bordering Mauritania and Algeria has been a disputed territory for over 50 years. Your travels will bring you nowhere near this area.

~You will see police consistently stationed on the road as you travel with us, particularly at the entrance of many towns. They have established check-points to monitor vehicles as well as to control speed. This practice has been in place for many years, and your driver is well aware of the process.

Morocco’s currency is the Dirham (MAD) and is a closed currency. You may be able to purchase it at some foreign exchange counters at airports, but otherwise we advise you to simply use an ATM machine on arrival and throughout the country. They are readily available almost everywhere and are very convenient.

We have a very helpful suggestion. You will want to have small change to offer as tips for everyone from luggage carriers, housekeepers to people in need perhaps. It is hard to come by, so you can pop into any small grocer at the beginning of your tour to collect some snacks and get the coins you will need. This way they will always be handy, and a little goes a long way to thanking people.

It is not available in the desert, so if you must stay connected, it is advisable that you purchase a SIM card from the network operator ORANGE. There is an outlet in the Marrakech Medina.

At Guide Morocco Tours , we are happy to do our best to accommodate your dietary needs. You always eat fresh fruits and vegetables on our tours. Not to mention freshly baked bread, sweets, and mechoui (grilled meats), all home cooked. We often get requests for vegetarian meals, and it is our pleasure to serve it to you. You may want to keep a stash of granola bars or other snacks with you, however, we stop along the way at Petrol Stations with shops.

Muslims are not allowed to drink alcohol. The Koran does mention wine and as such, they do consume grain based drinks such as beer, anis and whiskey.

There are liquor stores available where you can pick up a bottle of rosé or other spirits.

Another suggestion, which can be fun, is to pick up a baguette, a Brie or Camembert, some olives at a grocer on the route and have a picnic by the side of the road
